Wind Stable Umbrellas Pty Ltd (WSU) trading as Finbrella contracts the manufacture of its Finbrella range specifying in detail the use of the highest quality materials of construction and workmanship. We are confident that our extensive development and testing efforts have resulted in a product range that will provide years of enhanced outdoor enjoyment. The warranty protection described below covers manufacturing defects only.

The warranty does not cover situations including:

  1. Loss or damage caused by factors beyond WSU’s control including fair wear and tear.
  2. Any Finbrella that has not been installed and maintained according to the maintenance or care instructions and the set-up instructions.
  3. Any alterations or repairs to the Finbrella not performed by WSU or performed without WSU prior written consent.
  4. Damage or defects caused to the Finbrella caused by impact or abrasive forces resulting from contact with the ground or other foreign objects.
  5. Damage or defects caused to the Finbrella caused by unusual, non-recommended or negligent use.
  6. Damage caused by wind forces in excess of recommended or specified maxima or damage by other environmental factors.
  7. Canopy damaged caused by “pinching” of the fabric by the Finbrella framework.

The selected materials of construction make Finbrellas ideally suited for poolside and coastal environments. However, customers should observe the simple care and maintenance instructions to ensure the longest possible durability of the product. The robust construction specifications have shown that Finbrellas can, under test conditions, withstand winds well in excess of 40 kph where the centre pole is securely fixed to the ground in a vertical position. WSU does not recommend less warrant the use of Finbrellas in wind speeds exceeding 35 kph (20 knots). In general, WSU strongly recommends that your Finbrella be strapped closed and or covered when not in use.

Warranty time periods against manufacturing defects:

5 Year warranty
The 100% Solution Dyed Acrylic fabric becoming unserviceable due to loss of strength or colour caused by UV degradation. This fabric warranty extends specifically to the replacement of fabric only and excludes the work and installation of others and also excludes other fittings and hardware. Other costs including re-making a canopy, dismantling, transport, re-erection, travelling costs and consequential loss are also excluded from this warranty.

2 Year warranty
(a) The olefin 220 gsm fabric becoming unserviceable due to loss of colour or strength caused by UV degradation. This fabric warranty extends specifically to the replacement of fabric only and excludes the work and installation of others and also excludes other fittings and hardware. Other costs including as re-making a canopy, dismantling, transport, re-erection, travelling costs and consequential loss are also excluded from this warranty.

(b) Finbrella frames and bases. WSU will replace or repair the items in these warranty categories in a manner that it deems most satisfactorily redresses the defect and it will do so at its sole discretion. Any replacement part supplied by WSU during the warranty period shall be covered by the warranty for the unexpired portion of the warranty period which covered the original Finbrella. The above warranties are available only to the original purchaser and cannot be reassigned to any subsequent owner. The benefits given by this warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies in respect of the product which the purchaser has under the Trade Practices Act and similar State and Territory Laws. Nothing in this warranty will exclude, restrict or modify any conditions, warranty rights or liability implied in this purchase or protected by law where to do so would render this warranty void.

Making a Claim

Customers may make a claim under the warranty by returning the Finbrella to the authorized retailer where it was purchased with proof of purchase.

Where the product was purchased directly from WSU, the end customer or authorized retailer may make a claim by providing WSU proof of purchase and notice in writing to our email or postal address together with a reasonable description (and photos if possible) of the defect(s). A contact phone number and or email address should also be provided so that a Finbrella representative can be in contact to discuss how best to redress the problem.

Transport charges:
The Customer will be liable for all transport charges incurred in returning defective components or parts for repair or replacement. WSU will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to the Customer.
